1981 Holden Utility WB Ute 3.3 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The only car to drive

Faults:

Rebuild of engine at approx 200 000 klms due to me having a lead foot.

Blew the diff for the same reason.

General Comments:

Very reliable.

Maintainable in your own garage.

Very easy to drive over long distances.

It's my work truck and show pony all in one.

Loves to push MX5s off roundabouts - they are too slow for it round corners.

1981 Holden Utility WB 5 litre from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

An almost indestructible vehicle with a myriad of available options

Faults:

Apart from the inside drivers door handle snapping off, not much.

The carburettor gasket needed replacing.

Also the power window switch broke.

General Comments:

These are fantastic cars, extremely reliable, but in desperate need of a 4 speed auto.

Parts are cheap as the wreckers are full of old ones.

Built very solidly with thick steel, but a little heavy on the juice.

Would be better suited to gas.

These utes usually die from rust and neglect rather than breaking down.
