Taken June 2004 from Manchester, England (Ringway International Airport) - MAN to Helsinki (Vantaa) - HEL

The check in was very easy with Finnair and the flight left on time.

The meals came around, however a mistake at my travel agents meant a vegetarian meal had not been ordered for me. Finnair did the best they could to help me out and a vegetarian meal was arranged for the return.

Overall the service was outstanding! There was no film on the way out, but we had episodes of the Simpsons/my family on the way out and the screens did change now and then to show our progress on a map.

During take off and landing the screens switched to cameras on the front and underside of the plane. Quite a novelty I thought, but the views were fantastic and certainly better than the views out of the side windows.

We arrived into Helsinki on time (not the point of this I know, but Helsinki is a beautiful city - not to be missed!)

We flew back in Business class, and the service again was outstanding. The crew were there to help whenever needed and the seats were very comfortable and spacious. There was a slight delay taking off, but this was due to an emergency landing of another plane and therefore I can't really hold this against them.. During the time were waiting we were kept well informed and in the end we were only delayed by about 10 minutes. Complimentary newspapers (the Guardian if my memory serves me right) were given out. The meal was Salmon on the way back and was very nice.

I can definately recommend flying with Finnair, they're very helpful and courteous and a good reflection of the Finnish nation.
