We flew with BMI baby on the 27th December. The day AFTER BMI baby cancelled all its flights because they were unable to get the planes de-iced.

We arrived at Manchester airport early having set off from home early as the snow was still bad on the roads. The only word I can use to describe the check-in areas is CHAOS. There were TWO lots of passengers for TWO days worth of flights at THREE check-in desks. With check-in staff that did not know what day it was. We kind of felt sorry for them, but we flew with BMI baby in September 04 as well and it was the same then as the computers had gone down. You would have thought they would have had a plan to prevent this, but NO.

When we eventually got through we were told we would be delayed by about 20 minutes so we were sceptical, but pessimistic. We were called ot gate on time only to be told after 45 minutes of waiting that the crew were now out of time (because of the boxing day fiasco) and we had to wait for another crew to arrive, and to come back at 11am. On our return we were then told the crew had been briefed and were on the way to the plane. Nearly 30 minutes later... NO CREW...we were them informed they had got lost and they di not know were they had got to.. (how would they find Malaga). 20 minutes later they arrived to a rapturous applause. SO... three hours late we eventually got on our way. After that quite uneventful, made good time with a miserable crew, but a cheery flight deck. Return journey was only about an hour late which is good for BMI baby. We have flown with BMI baby on quite a few occasions and have always been delayed and we always say never again will we use them. BUT we do as they seem to have the best deals when look to book the flights.
