Home > Royal Air Maroc > ReviewTaken February 2005 from New York, NY (John F. Kennedy International Airport) - JFK to Casablanca (Mohamed V) - CMNNew York - Casablanca, Business Class, Feb 2005. RAM is a very uneven airline: Clean, if worn, 767-300. Small Business Class, 2 rows of 5 abreast seats with plenty of leg room, but seats manage to be uncomfortable. Excellent meal which literally takes hours to serve (about 3, on a 7 hr night flight), rather hapless Moroccan cabin crew, but one very efficient Swiss lady purser who gets things done... It would, overall, not have been a bad flight if all service units (individual reading lights, IFE, movies, audio) had not been shut down during the entire flight due to "overheating", probably a good thing as the same problem brought down flight SR 111 in 1995 causing 237 dead. However, that made the cabin very dark making it virtually impossible to read, and that problem had been ongoing and unrepaired for several days according to the crew... Altogether, a flight neither outstanding nor worth remembering, except that RAM's business class is cheaper than the competition by several thousand dollars, constitutes the only nonstop between New York and Morocco, and therefore shaves several hours from the flight time. One gets what one pays for... | ||
