Taken February 2005 from London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR to Mauritius (Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam) - MRU

The seating in Economy was quite uncomfortable for a 12 hour flight. Cabin service was mediocre and drinks requests made at the bar at the rear of the aircraft drew unnecessary sarcastic remarks from attendants. The return flight was more than one hour late arriving in London - no explanation or apology was offered.

At the airport in Mauritius there were long delays at check-in and no security questions were asked about whether I had packed my baggage myself or if anyone had asked me to carry anything for them. Check-in staff were not in any uniform and carried no personal identification.

Although the airport had passenger gantries available, these were not used by Air Mauritius and passengers were expected to exit the departure lounge, descend stairs, walk about 500 meters under the hot sun then ascend stairs to access the aircraft. Overall, the experience on departure was unpleasant.
