Home > First Choice Airways > 2005 > ReviewTaken February 2005 from Holguin - HOG to London, England (Gatwick Airport) - LGWAfter a first cancellation and delay of flight FCA 055, First Choice Holidays chartered an old and fatigued L1011. A problem with this particular aircraft was evident during taxi for takeoff. We took-off and shortly afterwards the engine flamed out or failed and flames could be seen coming from it. Everybody in the cabin was extremely frightened and very, very scared. After dumping fuel over Holguin, the aircraft returned for an emergency landing. It was the most frightening and unforgettable experience in my life. It left many passengers, including my family, in shock and very traumatised. First Choice have since claimed 'a bird strike during take off from Holguin'. It was a very frightening experience that no one should have to go through! | ||
