The flight on the way to Africa was had very cramped up seating arrangements and we didn't reckon much to the garfield movie either. Oh and the meals were very poor. But, it got us there. The flight on the way back to England was a different matter. We took off from Mombassa and as we left the ground there was a "bird strike"so told us, but we weren't shown any evidence to prove that. It was announced that we had to land at Mombassa. At that my girlfriend asked me what the stuff was coming from the engine. I replied it looks like smoke. We made a circuit round the airport (in which time they were supposed to be dumping fuel, but come on the journey back was thousands of miles surely they couldn't have dumped the fuel in the time we were in the air). As the runway came into view we could see 6 or 7 big fire engines with there lights flashing and an air ambulance parked up waiting for us to land, with a big crowd of on lookers. We thought we were going to hit the ground and burst into flames me and my girlfriend were absolutely terrified. When the plane landed we so relieved. We then had a 3 day delay and eventually flew with luxor airways. The plane was a lot more comfortable on the way back and the food wasn't bad. When we asked for some beer or wine we were told that African Safari Club had told the airline not to let us have beer or wine. So we asked if we could buy drinks and were still told no (lol).
