Home > British Airways Citiexpress > 2005 > ReviewTaken April 2005 from Birmingham, England - BHX to Wien (Vienna) (Schwechat) - VIETwo return flights to Vienna cost approximately £168 when bought at the start of the British Airways seat sale back in January, which was excellent value for money. Both flights departed and arrived on time (in fact the outbound flight was about five minutes early). The Embraer 145 used for both journeys has a bit of a low ceiling which meant that anyone six foot or over had to stoop when moving along the cabin, but the seating was comfortable. On the outbound flight we were positioned in the back row, which was next to the engines, but to my surprise it didn't seem any noisier than any other flight. There was a fair bit of turbulence when coming in to land at both ends, but no worse than in any other aircraft given the fairly strong winds involved. On-board service was excellent, with a full bar service offered first (I didn't realize BA still did this - they certainly didn't advertise the fact that wine and beer was available on the previous few flights I'd had with them, from both Heathrow and Birmingham), followed by the traditional sandwich and cake offering (which was nice), and finally a hot drinks round. The pilots spoke to us a couple of times both ways to let us know our progress and the weather conditions at our destination, although on the return flight the speakers were a bit muffled so we couldn't quite make out what the pilot was saying. I was very impressed with both the ground staff and the cabin crew, who were helpful and friendly. Overall an excellent experience. | ||
