Home > CSA Czech Airlines > ReviewTaken January 2005 from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuttel) - HAM to Sofia (Vrajdebna) - SOFOut of the four flights in the trip, three were delayed. The connection times in Prague in both directions were according to schedule less than 50 min. But it seems that all flights there are running 40-50 min late, so it is actually OK to transfer and go through innumerable security checks between the first and second level gates. Hamburg-Prague is flown in a noisy old turboprop ATR42 (if you get onto the Cesky Krumlov ATR, it is VERY noisy, like a drill through your brain). They serve a snack box with ham/cheese sandwich and a dry Tatranky desert, which is bigger than the sandwich and have non-alcoholic drinks (altogether a waste of paper I think). Prague-Sofia is flown on a Boeing 737, it's smoother flight, but the food is bread rool with several pieces of ham put onto orzo or couscous (strange combination), and the drinks are wine, beer, etc. The crews are nice, but on Hamburg-Prague nobody spoke German. One stewardess was super goodlooking though!!! The announcements in German and Bulgarian are a recording which in the end says: Excuse us if nobody from our crew speaks your language. Even CSA has downgraded their service since 2001 when I last flew them, but the prices have remained the same!!! But without a direct flight from Hamburg, CSA is sadly the cheapest option to get you from A to B... | ||
