Taken April 2005 from Washington, DC (Washington Dulles International Airport) - IAD to Casper, WY (Natrona County International Airport) - CPR

This trip was routed through Denver. On the first leg, the check-in at a kiosk was quick and efficient. It offered an up-grade to Premium Economy (United calls theirs 'Economy Plus') for $29 between Washington and Denver. If the offer is accepted, the kiosk then allows you to view the available seats for the up-grade and again gives you a chance to decide whether you still want to up-grade.

United now sells snack boxes for $5 each. There is a choice. I chose a pack with salsa, bread sticks and cheese dip, and beef jerky. This was not a great choice because there was nothing with which to eat the salsa, except the beef jerky. That turned out to be a very odd tasting combination. Nevertheless, the cabin staff were friendly and efficient in their service. The 737-300 did not have any visual entertainment, but channel 9 allowed you to listen to the air traffic control conversations.

The flight between Denver and Casper was on an Embrier Brasilia turboprop operated by SkyWest, a United Express carrier. The flight attendant attempt to provide snacks and beverages, but there was too much turbulence to continue the service. There was surprisingly sufficient leg room to stow large backpacks under the seat.
