Taken January 2001 from Barbados via Tobago to London Gatwick

I had a dreadful flight back from Barbados with JMC. The plane on the outward journey on JMC Airlines flight JMC 5328 was dirty with the tray table on my seat 26K being greasy and having food still stuck to it.

The return flight JMC 5329 was originally intended to leave on Monday 22nd January at 19:00, but we were informed at the airport by the rep that the flight would be delayed until 10:30am. We were then transferred to Sam Lords castle (where we had been staying all week).

On the 23rd January we boarded the already delayed JMC Airlines flight JMC 5328, which was then to go via Tobago before heading onto London Gatwick. After taking off from Barbados my the air vents by my allocated seat 33B were expelling very hot air. This became very uncomfotable and made me feel quite sick. I complained to a Cabin Crew member, however nothing was done about this.

After landing in Tobago the pilot informed us that one of the engines appeared to be operating at a "higher than safe level". Although he tried to reassure passengers that the aircraft was safe to fly. After this announcement several passengers left the aircraft concerned over safety fears, and there was a further delay whilst waiting for their luggage to be unloaded. In the midst of the fuss several other passengers started being abusive, which resulted in a feeling of intimidation from these other passengers and one passenger being arrested from the aircraft.

After a period of time the captain came inside the cabin and tried to reassure the passengers that the plane was safe to fly. He then informed us that the aircraft would fly around for a bit at 15,000ft in order to see if the engine fault occurs again.

After taking off the plane climbed steeply and after a short period of time the captain informed us that we were going to turn back to Barbados to land. After this I could hear one of the engines was cutting out, which made me feel very unsafe. The fuel was then dumped before having a very turbulent landing into Barbados.

After this we were transferred to a hotel, which was not of the standard we had paid for.

I have to say I would never fly with JMC airlines again, and urge anyone who is considering flying with them to think twice. I have never experienced such poor service and I believe it is only a matter of time until they have a serious accident.
