SN offer twice a week a direct service from Brussels to St.Petersburg: it gives the opportunity to fly direct without transit in Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Scandinavia (SAS), Amsterdam (KLM)... Also the departure and arrival time are really better (11h00 vs. 8h00).

And the price? All companies became more and more on this routes without competition of low-cost airlines (cheapest return ticket more as 400 €), but by SN Airlines the return price was... 246 €, all taxes included.

The check-in in Brussels is complete different as the pathetic women of Lufthansa/Austrian: the smile is free and they still ask where you want to sit, even by a cheap ticket. By the way, SN use now also only electronic tickets.

The airplanes are still the small and old Avro RJ 85: but the seat pitch is in comparison of Ryanair (which I used a couple of weeks ago) brilliant and the comfort is better.

No in-flight entertainment, but you receive free newspaper and the alternative for the electronic route-map is a paper map, with all details, designed by the Captain (which just say hello and goodbye) and given to the passengers...

The food is good: really better than by example KLM, the Brussels Bistro packet contains warm meal and they came 4 times (!) for drinks; of course also alcoholic drinks are available and free of charge. (I don't accept the way of working by KLM where they refuse to give a glass of wine or beer in economy). When I asked a glass of Baileys, I receive as answer that normal this is only for business class, but not a problem, "you receive one sir"!

About the service: I travelled with my wife and our son of 9 months. Exceptional service, really, they help us with everything.

In direction of Russia, we departed on time and arrived 20 minutes early, back to Belgium we departed 5 minutes late and arrived also 5 minutes too late, due to heavy traffic above Brussels.

In St. Petersburg, they not using the (international) Pulkovo 2 terminal, but the other terminal (Pulkovo 1) for national flights.

Even this is a typical Russian looking airport "welcome in Russia), I'm very, very happy they just using that terminal. The aircraft is small, that means not many passengers. On the moment of arrival, nobody by the customs, what means that you didn't need to wait more than 1 hour, like the other terminal.

The same for the departing: this is really going very quickly and the comedy to put your shoes out for security reasons doesn't exist in Terminal 1. There are not many shops or facilities, but who cares? This terminal 1 is really 2 or 3 times more quickly to check in and out!

Conclusion: the slogan "passionate about you" is true. They are great and offer excellent value for the money. Try them.
