Taken January 2005 from Birmingham, England - BHX to Tenerife, Canary Islands - TCI
Having read several reviews of LTE before travelling, I was not looking forward to this flight. On departure from Birmingham the flight was on time, the aircraft was clean and the crew were friendly. The leg room onboard the A320 (LTE flight 989) was ample, possibly a little better than some British charters, and I am around 6ft in height. Once we had taken off we didn't see much of the cabin crew, as they spent most of their time behind the curtains at the front and rear of the aircraft. During the flight a bar service was offered and the inflight meals served. This was possibly the worst meal I have ever seen on any airline, and consisted of a stale bread roll, slice of cheese, very questionalbe chicken and a slice of what appeared to be raw bacon. I didn't even open the packaging, and was glad I had eaten at the airport. Inflight entertainment consisted of a black and white silent movie and a few cartoons, and this wasn't shown until towards the end of the flight. When we arrived at Tenerife, the landing was what can only be described as scary! This was probably due to the cross winds, but the aircraft seemed to dip sharply to the right just before touchdown and then veer across the runway. The return flight was much the same, again the crew were friendly and helpful, the meal again consisted of a roll, cheese and this time ham, which was actually quite nice, although probably not appropriate for an 8am flight. Very little in the way of entertainment, but the aircraft was clean and again I found the leg room to be OK. The return flight departed on time, and arrived slightly early, the landing at birmingham was a little shakey, but again this was largely due to the cloud and wind. I would fly this airline again, but would prefer to fly with a british charter. |
