The flight from London Gatwick to Hurghada was delayed by 3 hours, but apart from that not an unpleasant experience. The flight back from Hurghada was more interesting though... Yet another 3 hour delay, we were told due to the previous flight being delayed.. seems strange that this should happen outbound and inbound. On boarding the plane we noticed that it was totally white no markings at all, which we thought a little unusual... The plane was "Quite well used" inside, and sitting right at the back noticed that part of the ceiling was falling down, the person sitting across the aisle from myself had a broken arm rest, that we tied up with yellow string so that he could use it. Eventually the crew found some tape and taped it up for him, together with several other arms rests that seemed to have a similar problem.

We were invited by the crew to have the first drink free on the return journey (never really found out why) can only presume because of its late arrival, but really would have rather had a take off on time.

On speaking to a very pleasant member of the cabin crew we found out the reason why the plane was so Virgin White... He told us that it had been in "mothballs" in Brize Norton, as it had been used previously as a troop carrier, taking the seats out to accommodate stretchers when required... seems a very plausible explanation to me!!!

The flight was a safe flight and we are back in the UK to tell the tell the tale... I would say my biggest disappointment with Air Atlanta is the lack of punctuality... I can cope with a rather used plane... but the 3 hour delay flying out from the UK and back was not very acceptable.
