I flew from Warsaw to Frankfurt Hahn on a Wednesday afternoon on one of their A320 aircraft. The plane appeared to be brand new, with deep purple leather seats and flip-down TV screens which, unfortunately were not used, even for the safety demo.

The cabin crew were fantastic. They were all smiles (natural ones always help!), nothing was too much trouble, and they all spoke several languages. Strangely, cabin crew announcement were made in Polish and English, while announcements from the flight deck were made in English and German, however I am still amazed by the fluency with which all of these languages were spoken.

The flight was almost completely full and they don't fly to Frankfurt Hahn every day, but it was still quite cheap.

Flying out of Warsaw airport is a bit unusual though. Budget airlines use a tiny terminal just past the main terminal. There are only half a dozen check in desks. These desks are only used to check YOU in, give you your ticket, and to weigh and label your baggage. You then take your baggage to security where you put your suitcase through X-ray yourself and put it on a conveyor belt out to the plane. You then put your hand-baggage through another X-ray machine and head to the tiny departure lounge which has only 3 gates, seating for roughly 100 people and 3 very small shops.

Anyway, with regard to WizzAir themselves, I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I really hope they do well. My one gripe would be that you cannot use Switch or Solo unless you book a return flight originating in the UK. As I was not doing this, I could only pay by Visa or Mastercard and was therefore charged a Credit Card Fee. Apart from that, the whole thing was flawless.
