Taken August 2005 from Shannon - SNN to Coventry (Baginton) - CVT

Booked the flight on line. Return fare was under 80 euros, which is very reasonable.

Check in at Shannon was a bit chaotic with a long queue, and initially only 1 check in desk. This was then rectified when a second check in desk was opened. Thomsonfly are one of the few low cost airlines who allocate seats, so this eliminates the rugby scrum at boarding.

Boarding was quick and orderly, with no pushing or shoving. The flight attendant welcomed us on board as we boarded.

Seats on board were okay for the flight to Coventry, they looked a little worn and not a lot of leg room. But they were comfortable. My seat was 4D up at the front of the aircraft, which was great as you got served early in the flight.

Fight took off a few minutes late, crew did apologise for this.

In flight service consisted of food and drinks for sale at reasonable prices. The only problem with this is if you are paying in Euros, they will only accept 1 or 2 euro coins, so everything gets rounded up. It is better to pay in Sterling.

Purchased a sandwich and drink, which was reasonable.

The captain came on, and gave introductions and advised us of the arrival time and conditions.

Crew then came and collected rubbish. Overall the crew were efficient and friendly, the only down side was they were too loud on the PA system, which did put people jumping.

Arrival on time in Coventry, land was smooth. The terminals in Coventry are very small with no arrivals lounge. As 3 flights arrived around the same time, people were kept in a queue at immigration, and each flight cleared and picked up there baggage individually. Once through immigration, baggage was arriving on belt.

Had to wait almost an hour for the next bus into Coventry, just as well it was a sunny day.

Overall a good low cost service, flight was a reasonable cost, pre allocated seats, good flight crews, shame Thomsonfly are dropping the SNN - CVT route as it is a convenient way to the Midlands.
