Taken August 2005 from Bergamo - BGY to Manchester, England (Ringway International Airport) - MAN

Flew from bergamo to manchester. The aircraft was an excel airways 737-400 operating for astraeus. We boarded at 20:00 for an 20:10 departure. Once onboard the pilot didn't even welcome us and just said we would have a 45 minute delay which wasn't good news! The flight crew were Air Atlanta Icelandic and the cabin crew were mixed- 2 astraeus and 3 excel. The cabin crew decided to do the retail service on the ground during the delay. We eventually departed at 21:05. The pilot was not at all informative. He never spoke to passengers about the flight and route unlike the astraeus crew on the outbound flight. A bar service commenced afr take off and then a cold meal of cheese and onion quiche with salad and a bowl of tomato and onion sald with chocolate and vanilla cake was served. The seats were excel airways seats and were very comfy, but the legroom seemed less than the astraeus plane we flew on the outbound flight. Just before landing we hot severe turbulence and the crew were called to sit down. We made an extremely heavy landing at manchester and everyone jerked forward then back! We arrived at 22:10, 40 minutes late.

I would fly astraeus again, but hopefully on an astraeus plane and crew. Excel was good and I would fly them also because delays don't occur all the time!
