The choice of Airline was not of my own choosing, but formed part of the package holiday I had booked. IN FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT:- Non-existent. There were drop down overhead tv screens, but all I was presented with was a glorified advertisement on both the the Outbound & Inbound legs for Air Europa's business flights. No videos, no music, no thing. A big let down as I like to take my mind off being thousands of miles up in a sealed metal tube, by either listening to music or watching a film. The In Flight magazine was all in Spanish so I could only look at the pictures. ON BOARD CATERING: Very poor. Basically consisted of two sandwiches and a 'bite-sized; chocolate bar presented in what resembled a shoe box with cold tea or coffee. There was a bar service, but I cannot comment on this as I never made use of it. STAFF SERVICE & HOSPITALITY: Not too bad. However, being a Spanish Airline the Cabin Crew & Flight Crew spoke in 'broken English' and were not that easy to understand on the intercom system. The uniform, a kind of denim outfit looked cheap and tacky, more akin to a very low budget airline, which in as far as I am aware Air Europa is not. ON BOARD COMFORT: Clean and tidy with plenty of leg room. The aircraft I flew on was a Boeing 737 800, and for a Charter Flight I was surprised at the amount of leg room. Seats clean and reasonable comfortable. However, the 'windows' were very filthy. I've read reports that Air Europa permit smoking on board their aircraft. I cannot confirm this, but it was not permitted on either leg of my return flight, and the 'No Smoking' signs remained illuminated throughout the entire flight. PUNCTUALITY: No delays on the outbound flight despite the inbound flight arriving with a problem to one of the wheels which appeared to overheat. The site of the Airport Fire Service racing down the runway (this could be clearly seen from the Departure Lounge) chasing the aircraft was a little worrying to say the least. There was a 30 minute delay on my return flight with no apology made by the crew or captain and no reason given, but my flight landed according to schedule, so I cannot complain. | ||
