Taken January 2005 from Olbia, Sardinia (Costa Smeralda) - OLB to London, England (Gatwick Airport) - LGW

Checking in was easy. There was not a large queue and it just took a few minutes. We were slightly above the luggage allowance, but this passed unremakred. We were allowed to take our child's car booster seat as hand luggage.

The flight arrived on time. Olbia is a small airport where a bus takes you to the plane. Our flight was almost full. Two buses were provided. In theory Passengers with preferential treatment (e.g. with young children) could get on the first bus to board the plane first. In practice in turned out to be a bit of a scrum to get on the plane.

We flew an Airbus 319. Fine for short haul flights (the seats don't recline, but the seat pitch is OK for two hours). The air hostesses were good. We bought some things off the trolley. The prices where reasonable if not quite cheap.

We took off and landed on time, even though we reached LGW at 17:300. Given Europe's congested airways this is not bad.

Easy Jet try and achieve short turn around times of half an hour between landing and take off. This means that the passengers are encouraged to help keeping the plane tidy short of passing a brush and pan down the plane. However the advantage of a short turn around time is that we picked up our luggage within a few minutes of disembarkation.
