Taken October 2005 from London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR to Colombo (Katunayake) - CMB

London Heathrow to Colombo via Amman with a 16 hr stopover at the Royal Jordanian transit Alia Hotel. Originally booked this flight because of the unbelievable price. Then started to hear horror stories about late departures, missed connections etc and that the transit hotel was horrible. However none of this happened. The check in (handled by Air Canada) at Heathrow was quick and efficient. The flight took off amd landed in time and the transit hotel was adequate and clean if a tad basic. Transfer from airport to hotel amd back was fast and easy. The flight attendents were good and friendly and the food also was good, the seat pitch on all legs of the flights was better than some other airlines I have flown with. On the Amman Colombo leg we were given an upgrade to Crown Class which was a truly wonderful experience, the food and service was fantastic and we received a small gift which was a nice touch. On the return journey evertything went smoothly,so all in all a very pleasant experience. I have since spoken to other people who have flown wuth this airline who have said we must just have been incredibly lucky, maybe we were, but I would certainly use Royal Jordanian again.
