Taken July 2005 from Dublin - DUB to Philadelphia, PA (Philadelphia International Airport) - PHL

The flight started badly at Dublin although this was down to Dublin Airport and had nothing to do with Us Airways. We were constantly turned away from immigration by a member of Dublin airports ground staff on the grounds that we were not American, despite there being no Americans left who needed to go to immigration.

When we finally got on board the staff were friendly and the cabin was clean. The plane was a 767-200 and therefore was a little old. I had a window seat and the legroom was good.

The in flight entertainment was a little outdated and the film shown was poor, it began to flicker and was hard to watch so I was much happier reading Harry Potter. The headphones supplied at a cost of $5 are poor so it is best to bring your own.

The food was a choice of chicken or pasta. I chose the chicken, which was very good.

The staff were kind and courteous and not at all like those mentioned in other reviews. They regularly made announcements , saying that anyone who wanted drinks or snacks should push the call button. I did and they were quick in answering.

The flight was late touching down at Philadelphia because of a thunderstorm. When we did touch down we were the last plane to do so. However due to lightening we could not exit the plane for over an hour. The pilot and crew could have done more to keep us informed, but we eventually got off the plane.

Returning to Dublin the staff were just as good and the Pasta was just as nice as the chicken. I am disappointed that SAS have stopped their Dublin-Copenhagen-Washington route as I would have preferred to fly to Washington, but this route was great value for money and a direct flight.
