Taken June 2005 from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuttel) - HAM to Sofia (Vrajdebna) - SOF
I have flown many times between Hamburg and Sofia on CSA, and they have looked all the same: on-time departure in Hamburg, on-time arrival in Prague and then a delayed connection flight by 1 or 1 and 1/2 hours. The nightmare connection time at Prague airport is between 11 and 12, when there is a wave of departures and the crowd is trying to reach their gate to board (especially on the lower level). You have to pass through security between connections, and there were maybe 600-700 passengers standing in line to be checked. As they announced a departure flight, there was always an uproar and 50-60 people start pushing themselves forward to get on the plane. A great disorder! As the flight to Sofia was delayed by more than an hour, it was OK to wait in the line for security. After security at the gate they made us all go through Czech customs (?) although we were in the transit zone. The flight was full and felt cramped. The food they serve on board is unrecognisable, and the wine of mediocre quality. Very late arrival to Sofia, and a mechanical apology from the crew. When is some airline going to start a direct flight to Sofia from Hamburg? |
