Taken January 2006 from Johannesburg (Jan Smuts Airport) - JNB to Durban (Louis Botha) - DUR

The airline on both flights was very good, its just a pity that the staff at the airports are very slow and disorganised. Booking in for flight to Durban on 09/12/05 after a flight from Paris was an absolute disaster. Although about 25 desks seemed to be open, there were 3 lines of disgruntled people about 150 meters long waiting to be checked in. Even hough we landed from Paris in plenty of time, our flight (555) had already been called for boarding while we were still about 100 meters from the desk. We then had a very flustered lady walking up and down the queues screaming flight numbers and people breaking out of lines to follow her to check in. On our return flight from Durban on 31/12/05 we had the same problems at check in. The economy counters had two members of staff manning them with long queues and the premium counters had five staff members. Seeing that only about the first seven rows were business class the organisation seemed to be pathetic. When asking if we could book in at the premium desk we were told to wait for our flight number to be called, then we could go to premium check in. Never again.
