Taken December 2005 from Tees Side - MME to Tenerife, Canary Islands - TCI

First time flown with Air Europa. Booked as part of a package holiday with Thomson, however Britannia Airways were not operating these Thomson flights as they usually do. Outbound Aircraft from Teeside was a new 737-800, which offered the best seat pitch I have ever seen on a Charter flight, 2-3 inches more room than a pitch of a Britannia flight. Cabin Crew were dressed in denim which looked smart. As soon as I boarded the flight it was apparent that the cabin crew were very friendly, they spoke in good english despite all being spanish. Announcements on the intercom were hard to hear, especially from the captain - who's english was not so good. Safety videos were played in Spanish and English on flip-down screens. There was no form of in flight entertainment on this 4 and 3/4 flight! The screens played advertising repetitively, which was very annoying, and made it hard to pass the time! Cabin looked new, with a business class curtain at the front of the aircraft which wasn't in use on this occasion. Meal consisted of chicken and noodles, and the cabin crew served hotn bread rolls during the meal - a nice touch that many British airlines have left out in recent years. Overall flight was let down by non-existent in flight entertainment, however I felt the attitude of the cabin crew on this spanish carrier was a lot more welcoming than the sometimes 'stuck-up' attitude of typical British carriers.

Inbound flight was more of a dissapointment, delayed boarding as the pilot missed his slot. Aircraft was still a 737-800, but looked tired, and, the ashtrays on this plane looked like they had been used many times! Still an excellent seat pitch, but again NO FORM OF IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT!!!
