Home > Delta > 2005 > ReviewTaken December 2005 from Hartford/Springfield (Windsor Locks), CT (Bradley International Airport) - BDL to Fort Myers, FL (Southwest Florida International Airport) - RSWI flew on Delta for a trip to visit family in Florida over Christmas. Because those flights are always packed with families traveling for the holidays I decided to splurge and bought a first class ticket. It cost just over $1000. I flew from Hartford, changed planes in Atlanta, then went on to Fort Myers, on the west coast of Florida. A week later I did the trip in reverse. The flights were, as I expected they would be, full or nearly full. They left on time, however, and arrived virtually on schedule. The first class seats are relatively comfortable and there is good leg room. Certainly it's much more comfortable than coach, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. The flight from Hartford to Atlanta left at exactly noon. You'd think that at that hour they'd serve, at least in first class, something to eat. But nothing except chips and pretzels. They're generous with the drinks (you get one as soon as you board the plane, and then as many as you want while airborne), which are now served in those tacky plastic cups instead of real glasses. But the days of getting even a sandwich at lunchtime are, evidently, gone with the wind. I chose Delta because I'm in their frequent flyer program. They add "bonus miles" for the first class passengers, so I racked up quite a few. But they may be out of business before I'll ever be able to redeem them. | ||
