Home > Air Deccan > ReviewTaken August 2005 from Bombay (Sahar (Santa Cruz) International Airport) - BOM to Madras (Meenambakkam) - MAAAir Deccan is one of the new low-cost companies serving the Indian market. Prices are now dramatically lower than they were during the Indian Airlines monopoly. My ticket Bombay-Madras was about 45 US$. The flight left more or less on time, luckily as the domestic terminal in Bombay is hot, crowded and completely unorganized. Service on board was as can be expected from a low-cost carrier: no free drinks or food; prices of food were reasonable nonetheless. The landing in Madras was about the worst I ever experienced. The pilot wanted to do it too smoothly, hovering 10 feet above the runway for a long time. Then he crashed the plane down and had to apply massive force on the brakes to bring us to a halt before the end of the runway. I would travel again on Air Deccan considering the low prices and the interesting network of regional routes they are servicing. | ||
