Taken 17 April 2006 from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport) - DFW to Washington, DC (Washington National Airport) - DCA

A good flight and a long wait for a gate. I flew from Dallas to Washington National on US Air Express which flies 70 passenger E-170 jets nonstop on this route. I chose US Air Express because it had good flight times for my schedule, but primarily because it was considerably less expensive than American Airlines which is now the only only airline that flies between DFW and DCA nonstop. The flight was very crowded which seems typical of flights these days; although a full 70 passenger aircraft gives one a greater sense of lack of space than a larger plane.

I do not know how this airport is going to handle demand at a peak travel time.

It was a good flight. We took off early and we landed a little early. The problem is that when we arrived there were no available gates and it was a long wait to get one. Then there was an auto accident at the entrance to the airport and as a result the line of people waiting for cabs must have consisted of about 150 people. I do not think I have ever seen Washington National this crowded.
