Taken 8 April 2006 from Oslo (Gardermoen) - GEN to Houston, TX (Houston Intercontinental Airport) - IAH
I fly transatlantic several times a year and have tried most of the airlines currently running between Europe and the US. Air France was a big surprise, basically because I haven't flown with them for a long time, and never intercontinentally. The 777 had recently been refitted and the seats were as comfortable as can be expected for a 10-hour flight. Food excellent. In-flight entertainment good, though not AVOD. There was a self-service bar in the middle of the aircraft and several drink-trips were made during the return night flight. All this for a fare that I had to check three or four times because it seemed exceedingly low (4000 NOK or about 450 USD at the time of booking). Paris CDG terminal 2C seems to be under reconstruction though, so if you have to connect here, take my advice and stay on the landside until you have to clear through security, because there is currently very limited seating, one small cafe - and that's that! (not AF's fault of course, but I did have to wait 4 hours there...). |
