Home > EasyJet > 2006 > ReviewTaken 12 May 2006 from Newcastle - NCL to Alicante - ALCWe took the EZY6413 13:20 Flight to Alicante for a weeks stay in Benidorm. It was our first trip abroad with the children, one of whom is severly disabled. Check in was fairly easy considering there were eight of us and all the bags and special equiptment for my daughter. I was told to go to gate 19 to await assistence to the plane whilst the rest of our party went to the normal boarding gate. The ambulift apparently had not even collected the inbound special assistance passengers off our aircraft, so we were finally boarded once everyone else was on, which I don't think is the best idea as we need a lot more time to get ourselves on and sorted out. The crew were fantastic, nothing, but praise especially for the senior - Lisa who was very welcoming, chatty and showed an honest interest unlike some of the staid crew you see on some airlines. The food and drink onboard all has to be paid for. This flight was very busy and they soon sold out of the most popular alcohol, mainly bought by the rowdy lads sat at the back away from us. Thought the Sandwiches were really nice, though at 3.00 a go they are not cheap. We landed into Alicante more or less on time and the weather was fantastic. Quickly taken to the luggage carousel where our bags were just about first off and all in one piece. The return Journey on EZY6414 on the 19th May was much the same except the gate advised was 7 then changed to 10 only for us to get there and be told to then go to 5 as that gate was still being used for an Algerian plane. All the passengers turned heel and headed off in the opposite direction like it was a race arriving at a gate where no plane was visable yet they stood there around the door blocking the wheelchair passengers and a lady with a pram, this stupid stampede is caused due to the free seating policy. I am convinced if everyone was allocated a seat on the boarding card they would not behave in such a selfish way. In the end an agent came out to sift through the people and get the pre-board passngers through so at least they could get settled in first (At least the Spanish get the idea of pre-boarding unlike Newcastle). Once on though all was fine and after a short delay due to air traffic shortages we left Alicante for home. Not so much to choose from as the flight out had been quite busy and am told easyJet don't have time or the means to get more stock, just whatever it starts out with at the beginnning of the day has to last. Crew again were very kind and helpful. I will use easyJet again, however I think care needs to be taken especially when pre-boarding and the boarding process in particular. | ||
