Home > Monarch > 2001 > ReviewTaken May 2001 from London Luton to AlicanteMonarch Crown Service aims to provide a superior service to the economy carriers for a similar price. In my opinion they achieve this, although space is a bit limited on their A320's. Flight was actually early departing from Luton (at the scheduled departure time we were already about 3000ft up!) but a strong headwind eroded this advantage and we touched down at Alicante exactly on time. On the return journey the flight was a little late leaving, but made up time to arrive exactly on time once again. Monarch provide a complimentary bar service and also wine with dinner. The food was good - particularly Salmon in Hollandaise sauce on way out. Service reasonable although my wife and I were initially 'forgotten' when dinner was served on the return trip. When we pointed this out to a stewardess she arranged for the steward who missed us out to bring the food - he did so promptly but without even a hint of an apology for his mistake. Not the most comfortable fight I've ever been on, but the video system helps to pass the time. In conclusion, Monarch provides a product and service superior to the budget airlines for a similar price - I have flown this route with them before and will do so again. | ||
