I have travelled with Astraeus on two return flights. Both times the flight has been delayed.

Last summer I travelled to Alicante and on the outbound flight we were 3 hours delayed – which is not fun when you also have to check-in 3 hours before your flight, a total of 6 hours in the airport! To apologise, we only got 1 tiny can of Pepsi each from Astraeus at the begging of the flight! On the return flight home, yet again the flight was delayed by 3 hours. Astraeus apologised by giving us some snacks (sandwich, drink, crisps, and biscuits) to eat whilst in the departure lounge, better than a measly tiny can!

Not only was the plane delayed on the return flight home – but also we got a completely different plane altogether – a Titan! Apparently there was a fault with the plane. The Titan plane was a lot better than the Astraeus plane anyway!

Second time around (a year later), the flight was delayed again to Malaga, but it was only a short delay. The reason was operational difficulties because there was some safety leaflets missing which are essential by law. On the return flight there was another delay – operational difficulties. And yet again our return flight was not an Astraeus plane, but an Air Slovakia plane, which did not have Astraeus staff, but Slovak staff! Also on this flight we did not receive a hot meal, only Astraeus crackers, sponge cake, bred roll and a drink – which usually is accompanied with a hot meal!!

The Astraeus plane itself feels very old fashioned. They were small Boeing 737’s. The seat’s looked dirty an old, and small legroom. There was also no in-flight entertainment so the flight was very boring. I recommend you provide your own in-flight entertainment.

I think it is time that Astraeus invested in some brand new planes!
