The flight was full to capacity, but the comfortable A340-300 provided ample room for everybody. Foot rests and individual monitors in economy made the 9 plus hours of flying pass rather quickly. On the minus side, from time to time the sound on the monitors did not work.

The hot dinner (2 choices) was very good (8 of 10) and the second meal, a "breakfast" was adequate, but was a cold snack rather than a breakfast as it consisted of cold sandwiches.

The crew was efficient, but not friendly.

Take off was 50 minutes late and disembarking at Johannesburg took longer because the initial parking position was incorrect (!) and we had to move 10 meters forward which was done by re-starting the engines as there was no tow truck available!
