Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport) - ATLDelta is clearly a very poorly run airline. Check this set of experiences with them: I just had the worst experience with Delta that I have ever had with any airline - and this was the second time. I was booked on flights from London to Atlanta and from Atlanta to Baltimore. The following events occurred: 1. The London flight left 1.5 hours late. 2. When it arrived at Atlanta, we were forced to sit on the plane for over an hour waiting to get into a gate. I had this same problem with Delta at Atlanta a couple of years ago and missed my outgoing Delta flight as a result. Others I talked to in the gate area said their incoming flights had also had to wait for a gate. In one case, the wait was 1.5 hours. I fly a lot and have never had to wait on any other airline to get a gate. 3. We were told on the plane that agents would meet us in the gate area to direct us to connecting flights. No agents appeared. 4. We were told that Delta agents would be in the Customs area to direct us. There were none, and there was a total mess at Customs, with huge lines that moved very slowly and with no directions for Delta customers. 5. Our boarding passes for the Atlanta to Baltimore flight indicated Gate F18. The departure board said E 32. 6. We went to E32 on the run. and the board at the gate listed our flight. There was no agent, and many people (including Delta stewardesses!) waited for 30 min., only to finally learn that the flight had again been moved, this time to the B concourse, requiring a train ride to get there. We all literally ran to get to the B gate, and we made the flight only because there was a mechanical problem with the plane that was delaying the flight. 7. It became clear that literally no one at Delta cared in the least about customer problems. After these experiences, I will NEVER fly Delta again. Barry. | ||
