Flew on a free ticket to Singapore (see previous entry LHR-DEL) after winning an online competition with Air India, so I can't complain about the price - I just had to pay the air tax in Delhi (around INR5000).

Again, the service, seating and food are fine, but the inflight entertainment are poor at best - it was a well used Airbus A310 on the route. The only thing that I found difficult was that one the cabin crew members was short and rude to fellow passengers, to the point where I almost got up to tell the guy to mind his manners.

They are generous with food and alcohol, and being Indian, are very good at catering to specialist diets e.g. no beef, Jain, Halal etc.

I really do wish they'd update their fleet (and provide daily service on such an important routing - sorting out flights wasn't easy, even if though I'd won a competition). It would at least be some comfort, but I guess the trade off would be that you'd end up with zero leg room, but a personal TV screen.

AI security is very thorough with additional checks at both ends, which I found reassuring.
