Overall very impressed with these flights. Maxjet operate a business class only service between London Stansted and New York JFK and Washington.

The 767 aircraft looked a little tired and the PA system didn't work properly, but I have no complaints about the comfort of the seats (six per row) or the facilities on board. The seats are not flat beds, but recline sufficiently to allow for a comfortable night's sleep.

There is something slightly surreal about travelling this way. Even when travelling business class on one of the big carriers, there is a slight sense of claustrophobia because of all the people passing through the cabin to the economy rows. As there are only 100 or so passengers on Maxjet, you have a feeling of space and comfort which is really quite unique for the business traveller.

On board service was generally very good. The food was excellent and, in my view, significantly better than United business, for example, which I have used quite often. Drinks and snacks were more than sufficient.

The personal portable video units were also good although a number seemed to be faulty and I'm not sure the airline has thought through the wisdom of storing large numbers of relatively heavy items in the overhead bins. A crew member managed to drop one of them when she was trying to put it away. and it could have been lethal if it had hit someone.

Only significant issue was timekeeping although I'm satisfied that this wasn't really within the control of the airline.

Very impressed overall. This is a business model that deserves to succeed. I suspect that their profit margins aren't that great and it will be interesting to see how they progress.
