Flew out of Dusseldorf with LH408, operated by PrivatAir. The plane is designed for Business Class only and is a small Airbus 319. Due to technical problems, the flight departed ca. 1.5h later. The plane interior was in bad shape. The seats were old and some were very severely damaged. The crew was not bad, but complained about too many flights without any rest in between. Only 4 flight attendants made service quite stressful - to them and to us. The champagne served during boarding was spoiled. Not only one bottle becaused all passengers returned it. In flight magazines ran out-nothing to read. On half way, Cola and sparkling water ran out. Food was mediocre: chicken, fish or Mexican (Chili with pancake...). You expect something different in business class. Carrot cake as desert, a cheese plate with poor camembert and some other dried out cheese, etc. Red wine served with the cheese was not drinkable (returned by several passengers). The snack before landing was very small - really a joke: small pieces of tuna, chicken and wrap. Other airlines have much better and more economy class food. In-flight entertainment was provided by personal DVD players (5 movies for selection).

The flight back was OK, though the food and friendliness of the service team was comparable. At least the plane was OK and on time.

Unfortunately, Lufthansa and its partners have become very bad in service after September 2001. I would rate them among the lower 20% of all airlines, I flew with.
