Taken 28 September 2006 from Sydney, New South Wales (Kingsford Smith) - SYD to Christchurch (Christchurch International Airport) - CHC

I arrived at Sydney on the 28th Oct 2006, not knowing if I made a good choice in choosing this airline. At the time of booking, this airline was one of the cheapest, the travel agency beating the price of the airfare by another $20.

I therefore got the fare for $240 one way to Christchurch - pretty good!!

The plane arrived about 5 - 10 minutes late. It was an airbus 340-500. Both check in and boarding was smooth.

The first thing to strike me after being directed to my seat was how narrow the seats were. Its okay if your only travelling on a short flight, but I could not manage to sit there on a long haul flight.

Pre-flight we were given a hot towel which was a nice thought.

After we took of and the seat belt light went off, I looked around the cabin and saw that the plane was quiet empty. I took advantage of this and found 4 seats which I had all to myself.

Breakfast was great!! The taste, quality and freshness of the food surprised me. There was heaps of food, considering it was only a 3 hour flight.

The in-flight entertainment was very good. Each headrest had an inbuilt screen containing hundreds of channels, mainly movies though. I've have flown with many other airlines such as Qantas, and Emirates has one of the best entertainment systems.

We arrived at Christchurch on time and I got of the plane swiftly.

Overall it was a great flight to Chirstchurch via Emirates. The flight attendants were polite, smiling and happy to assist. The cabin was nice and clean, the plane having a nice peach-coloured theme throughout it.

I would be happy to fly again via emirates airlines. It is truly as good or even better than some other high-profiled airlines.

The only worry is the size of the seats. On a long haul flight, I would prefer to travel on a airline using a Boeing 747.
