Home > EasyJet > 2006 > ReviewTaken 9 December 2006 from Edinburgh, Scotland - EDI to London, England (Luton Airport) - LTNEasyjet are certainly winning back my custom. I have never previously been much of a fan of the low-cost carriers and tend to prefer flying to London Heathrow, but since bmi introduced their ghastly service cuts last year (you can't even choose your seat!!) then if the BA price doesn't fit I'm prepared to try easyjet and this I did. Much improvement upon my last easyjet flights back in 2002 and 2004 (although nothing wrong with these flights). New Airbus 319 are a pleasure to fly on, very clean and new, with a modern and safe, yet comfortable feel. Online check-in is a fantastic idea. Whilst only on trial for certain easyjet airports/flights, I do hope easyjet roll it out across the network. Being able to check-in and print boarding passes for BOTH my flights before I had even set off is a bonus. Only having hand luggage meant I was able to bypass the check-in queues (previously dreaded with a low-cost carrier) and walk straight through security to the plane. The option to purchase speedy boarding (although again, not available on all routes) is definitely worth it and really pleased to see that easyjet boarding gate staff are actually enforcing it. Being called to board first is a pleasure i.e. first choice of seats. The scrum at the boarding gate was previously another of my low-cost carrier pet hates. Flights were on time both ways, not bad considering the number of sectors these aircraft fly thus opportunities for roll-on effect delays. Service I've marked lower simply because I did not opt to purchase anything from the buy-on-board service although I will add that offerings looked fresh and tasty and value for money. Cabin crew though were fantastic, extremely professional and cheery. Both sets of crews were an asset to the company really. Captains friendly also and kept us informed. Marked value down a little because I do resent the use of Luton, Heathrow wins for me because of connections and proximity to London and is a better airport. Would not hesitate to fly on easyjet again and attitude of the crew particularly put them on a par with British Airways. Will certainly not leave it as long as last time to fly easyjet again. | ||
