I flew from Heathrow to Costa Rica via Madrid. On the way out they would not let us on the flight from Madrid as they said that our luggage was not on board as our inbound flight had been delayed. Other people were told that the flight was overbooked and therefore we were bumped even thoughwe had boarding cards. The hotel they put us into was in the middle of nowhere and difficult to get into the centre of Madrid from so we had 24 hours with nothing to do. When we finally arrived in Costa Rica we waited 90 minutes for the luggage to come out and then were told that those of us who had been delayed for 24 hours would not get our luggage as it had missed the plane. While filling out the missing luggage forms we saw our luggage arrive - what were they playing at!

On the way back the flights were on time, but the rudeness of the stewardesses was extraordinary. When I got on the plane I was told that I had been moved to another seat as another couple wanted to sit together. Normally this would be okay, but the seat I was moved to had no blanket or pillow on it and when I asked for them I was told 'tough, they are put on every seat and so you should have one'. This is not what I would expect from a national airline and means that I will never fly with them again. I wrote to them when I got back - 6 weeks ago - and still have not heard anything from. Would advise people to avoid at all costs.
