Malan) - CPT to London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHRAboard their new A340-600 aircraft, which now serves the Cape Town - London - Cape Town route (SA221/220). Clean and quiet aircraft, the 33" legroom is wonderful, and the seats recline fantastically and are very comfortable to sleep in. Not a big sleeper myself, the seats and legroom allowed me to at least doze comfortably for a while through the night. The Cabin Crew were faultless, exceptionally smart and well presented, with lovely smiles and outstandting courtesy. A pleasure to be treated so well! The food was above average, and the modern aircraft lavatories were very smart, especially with all the creams and lotions they provide in them, coupled with new mirror lighting. In-Flight Entertainment is fantastic, with each seat equipped with personal touch screen large TV's with a large selection of films, TV shows, music and games all on demand. A fantastically smooth landing into Heathrow, and a real pleasure to experience such a lovely flight to end the holiday. I fly regularly with South African Airways, and never regret it at all. I wholly recommend the airline above it's competitors of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic; South African Airways are a truly exceptional airline and a tribute and wonderful reflection of South Africa itself. | ||
