Taken 24 March 2007 from London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR to Wien (Vienna) (Schwechat) - VIE

This was the first sector of a round trip to Innsbruck. Early morning departure from Heathrow was delayed by over 30 minutes due to one passenger who had checked in not appearing at gate and bags offloaded. I had a tight connection at Vienna and this delay resulted in me missing my onward flight and a 3 hour wait at Vienna. This delay was not the airline's fault - there were a good number of passengers who also missed their connections all due to one inconsiderate person. Austrian did provide a voucher for lunch at Vienna Airport which helped pass the time. I last flew with Austrian 20 months ago when they had followed the low-cost airlines in only making food available to purchase on their short haul flights in Europe. They have now returned to providing catering at no extra charge and I was pleased to receive a hot breakfast with a mushroom omelette and hot bread roll plus drinks service. Seats were reasonably spaced and more than adequate for a two hour flight. Cabin service was efficient, but not over friendly.
