Taken 24 May 2007 from Dublin - DUB to Lisboa (Lisbon) (Aeroporto da Portela de Sacavem) - LIS

AVIAJET - oh boy... where do I begin... Be Warned Its long... but it's worth reading... trust me :-

Like a previous posted review, I too was on a Aviajet flight in May '07, to 'Lisbon' (via Knock) out of Dublin.

After 2 hours waiting with no plane - an aged Aviajet MD83 turned up. Worryingly, no sign of catering trucks/service trucks, pulled up to it.

Anyway - we all clambered onboard. Like the previous person with Aviajet - my seat too, also came away/you could hold it in your hands (the velcro had worn away).

Couple of things to note... being Aviajet... there's no meal - No movies/no entertainment - No headphones... nada. However, there's tea/coffee & sandwiches (some toasted), which states you can purchase on board... brace yourself...

The cabin crew / & their service was a joke. It was so bad & out of sheer boredom I timed it. For 1 crew member to serve tea/coffee only to the first front 6 rows of seats, took 1 hour 40 Mins!!! You had to see it to believe it... (the total flight was just under 3 hours).

Get this - I was in row 1 of the plane on the outbound flight, & the hostess/stewart, told me I got the last 'on-board' pizza... the first row!! (and they started at row 1 with their trolley).

A couple opposite us - in row 1 on the other side, forked out about €3 for tea/coffee, which was freezing cold/looked like tar. They asked for a replacement... & I believe thru the kindness of the crew - they didn't have to pay again for it again... charming.

I got the last hot snack/pizza...so even though the menu stated 'A, B,C' - they only have 'A+B' left. Hang on - they have just served ROW 1.

I then heard, they then ran out of their remaining 'salad sandwich', by Row Number 5. They had to be joking... but they weren't. Even the crew were shaking their heads/rolling their eyes to heaven. By row 6 - you could hear people asking...'so what's left then?'. Pringles/Kit Kats. The trolley working at the rear, was empty too... except for tar, sorry tea/coffee. So the rest of the plane, had tea/coffee with a choice of Pringles/or a Kit Kat.

Also - 98 % could not get to the toilets, for about 1 hour 30 minutes as the crew - had 2 trolleys working from both ends of the isle, meeting in the centre (& you know from above it took 1 hour 40 minutes to move down 6 rows). Being Row 1 - I was lucky - as after about 22 minutes, when the trolley moved its 14 inches to Row 2 - I could squeeze out to the toilet (so, 4 people, could now get to the toilet)... no sorry, make that 8 people... that could now get to the toilet - the last row, were now free of the trolley syndrome.

Just for the record - the return flight was no better. Was in row 6 coming back.. My seat still came away from the base, & now they only had Pringles left - all other foods/snacks had gone (by row 6). I settled for a Coke & sucked a Murray Mint.

I know everyone likes to feel some service etc... but there was nothing!! The poor crew had to go through the motions, as if there was!!! Even if they owned up / & said right... we are out of snacks etc - we just have drinks etc. people would have respected that... but to be left with Pringles only - in a aircraft that can carry tons of stuff... is not right.

I have flown on various airlines, over the years & this one tops it. Judging by other comments of flying Aviajet to Barbados - it's the same!!!. Remember where you read this... if going on hols & you're stepping onto a AviaJet plane... cancel the holiday... it ain't worth what's going to happen to you. A plane full of cargo, would have got a better choice/selection. (I even see parts of Aviajets' Web Site, are still dated 2005 - I rest my case). You have been advised...

Aviajet - thanks, but no thanks...I'll wait for the next one.

Rgds,

One well travelled / experienced flyer- Dublin.
