Taken 15 July 2007 from Raleigh-Durham, NC (Raleigh-Durham International Airport) - RDU to West Palm Beach, FL (Palm Beach International Airport) - PBI
The service was OK, but we were lied to on the return flight. They cancelled the original connecting flight and made it very difficult to make accomodations. They kept having us switch lines to talk to another agent who directed us to another agent. After talking to numerous people and spending hours in line for a standby flight, we were told that we would have to fly the next day. They didn't want to provide any hotel, but after nagging them, they put us in the best western in Atlanta. What a dump that was. After the dangerous shuttle ride to the hotel with a tailgaiting driver and brakes tghat should have been replaced 10k miles ago, we found a nasty hotel room. The desk clerk told us that Airtran cancels flights every Sunday and they take the stranded travelers. We found a dirty hotel room with more hair on the toilet than I have on my head, but at 11:30 at night and more that 12 hours of dealing with these lying idiots, we lacked the energy to fight it. We grabbed a couple hours of sleep and then back to the airport to start all over. Before the final flight boarded, they asked for volunteers to step off the flight due to over booking. Hard to believe that after screwing everyone from the night before, they would do anything else like that, but they did. The only good part was that we actually got our luggage at the end of the flight. It only took an hour for them to find it. |
