Outbound: Got to Doncaster just as check in opened, Checked in very quickly at doncaster. Given our boarding cards. 4 of us traveling 2 adults 2 children. We got seated in rows 23 and 24 A and B. Went through doncaster airport which is very small, but very efficient. Waited around for boarding. Sat directly in front of the plane so we could see everything they were doing to the plane. About 9:40AM we were called to board the aircraft. We were told to use the back stairs. Walked out straight past the aircraft up the stairs and on to a fantastic, clean Boeing 767-300. Walked down got to our seats, Thomson had left my 10 year old daughter a kids pack my other child 14 year old sun wasn't too bothered. About 10:10AM we took off from doncaster. About 30 minutes into flight the TVs started working perfectly. The have to reset the TVs about 3 times to make sure they work without faults. After reaching cruising altitude the crew came round with free ear phones and the £5 premium upgrade. If you look at my photos on page 45 at the top of the TV they swipe a card along the bottom of the TV and then the TVs upgraded to all the the films movies TVs etc. I would recommended this as without it you can't stop the movies and you have to watch it from the point its at instead of the start of the film. There are some games. (Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Hangman, Solitaire, Battleships) Can't remember the rest of them. About 30 minutes after that came round with drinks and snacks service. Then about 3-4 hours after they came round with the food. The food was chicken popadoma which is chicken in some sort of spicy sauce. With a layzana at the bottom. After this they came around with the normal tea and coffee. Then the cleaning service. About another 2 hours later they came around with duty free. Then a final drink and snack service. About 1 hour before landing the came around with some sandwiches. I didn't even attempt to open them as they were still frozen solid. Which I didn't think was too good. We also had to fill in the annoying forms on the plane for immigration. Once filled in we arrived on time in Cancun. Great flight very helpfully cabin crew. Very Informative Capital always telling us where we were and what we could see out of the windows. Inbound: A lot worse than the outbound. Got to Cancun checked in within in 1 hour long ques at the doncaster check in. Got through and waited a hour before boarding. Boarded the aircraft at Cancun, but it was a shock when I got on the aircraft. The aircraft was dirty packs of sugar all over my seat when I got there. Empty crisp packets in the pocket. Then my ear phones wouldn't fit into the socket so this got me even more mad. Sat on row 21 C D E F better for the family all together. Plane took off about 20 minutes late. Cabin crew told us they were just resetting the IFE and then coming round with ear phones (To Buy If You Lost) and upgrades. But then everything failed and the systems just didn't want to work. So then I was totally mad with the flight at this point. It was going from bad to worse. On the way back we had 1 drink service which had to be suspended due too bad turbulence. About 20 minutes later the service continued. No Pringles left. Obviously I wasn't expecting much as they don't restock the plane in Cancun. We were then told there was a open bar at the end of the plane which I though was good. Our first drink was free due to the failed entertainment systems. Then if you needed anything you just went and bought it from the crew at the back of the plane. Also on our inbound flight we were given free comfort packs with a blanket, blow up pillow and eye mask. About 3-4 hours in we were served dinner. A bit nicer then the way in chicken in a normal tomato sauce with potatoes wedges. With cheese and a brown tee-cake. That was it for services then until about 1 hour before landing in doncaster we were served some "Rumbles" or in other word Mexican Gategorment breakfast. Which was corn flakes and milk with orange juice and a nutragraine bar. Landed in doncaster perfectly on time. I wasn't too happy with that flight, but I suppose everything isn't always perfectly. Thomsonfly New seats are very nice with the 33" Leg room which is very nice compared to 28". The leather seats make it that bit more comfortable. There New IFE TVs are very good when working. The moving map is a very good bonus just remember to wait for it to change I thought it didn't change at first and crossed it off. If your going to watch the TVs upgrading I would say is compulsory. As you can pause stop rewind and fast forward. You can also pause the film go onto the moving map and then go back to your film. I don't reckon much to Thomsonfly meals. And in Mexico and most areas of the Caribbean they do not restock the aircraft so get all your duty free on the way out and don't expect much from the meals on the way in or the snack and drink service. To Conclude my review: Thomsonfly have improved and made long haul flying with package holidays a dream. All they need to do is sort out there IFE making sure its always working and the experience would be perfect. The leg room is amazing. Lodes of room to stretch. Out of 10 I give Thomson a 9. Just get the IFE improved, Better meals maybe a selection on the aircraft. | ||
