Home > Aer Arann > ReviewTaken 28 August 2007 from Dublin - DUB to Inverness, Scotland - INVAer Arann are a small regional airline flying ATR propellor aircraft. Flight was a 1 hour journey from Dublin to Inverness to visit my niece. I got the fare for €100 return, which is quite dear when you consider the likes of Ryanair and Aer Lingus often have fares to anywhere from Ireland to UK for seldom more than €60. However, neither fly to Inverness. Boarding was on time in Dublin, and boared a brand new ATR72. Aircraft was clean and comfortable. Hostess could have made more of an impression, she looked tired and as if she didn't want to be there. Flight was half full (about 35 people). Take off was delayed due to ramp congestion in Dublin, not the fault of Aer Arann as Dublin has just become a chaotically choked and busy airport in the last few years. Flight service consisted of a pay snack/bar service, pretty much in line with most European Short haul. I found it quite dear by comparison. Hostess disappeared into the galley, however, in fairness they were not shy about responding to call bells. Some time made up enroute which resulted in only being 10 minutes late on landing. Quick baggage reclaim in Inverness, where my niece was already waiting. Overall, Aer Arann do offer a good regional service, it gets you from A to B. However, for such a small route, in such a "cheap to operate" effcient aircraft type (as they happily boast in their magazine), I couldnt help feel it was a tad on the expensive side. | ||
