Flight EZY1012 operated by an Airbus 319.

This was a business trip booked through work, so the cost was not a factor, but the flight was very reasonable at €75 one way.

Check in at Madrid was quick and efficient, even though I was three hours early for my flight I was allowed to check in. The baggage allowance of 20 kgs, makes travel that bit easier as I was on a business trip, but had a few days before hand to do some hill walking, so a I had a few heavy bulky items with me. The airport at Madrid is well laid out with a great selection of shops, which is ideal for passing the time.

The flight arrived on time from Basel and soon afterwards we were boarding, as I checked in early I was in zone a boarding, which was the third group to board.

Upon boarding I was greeted by the cabin crew, who were friendly and polite. I managed to find a window seat just behind the wing; the leg room and seat were comfortable. The boarding recording was on a loop in German, French, English and Spanish, so it was on continuous most of the time. The flight was only about 2/3 full so I had a full row of three seats to stretch out.

The flight pushed back and took off on time. The captain made announcements at the start of the flight and just before landing in both English and German. The cabin crew were very friendly throughout the flight. After take off they came around with their bar service, which is not overly priced compared to other airlines.

Flight was smooth with nice views as there was little cloud cover to cause obstruction. There was a great sunset over the mountains as the flight flew over Geneva.

We landed ahead of time in Basel, which caused confusion as the ground company were not ready for the flight, so a small delay on the aircraft perused.

Overall a great flight and very good value for money.
