Taken 10 December 2007 from Dubai - DXB to London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR

This flight was on a 777-300. I had a bulk head seat at the front of the economy cabin, so this might explain why the seat did not tilt, unlike the one I was in on my outward flight.

Push back was 30 minutes late, with no apology given. A continental breakfast was served shortly after take off, and comprised; fruit juice, fruit salad, muffin and a crossiant. A second croissant or muffin would have been welcome though.

Lunch was the usual salad starter followed by duck and spring noddles. I opted for salmon for the main course, which came with broccoli and mashed potato and was excellent. It was amazing to me that I could not have orange juice with my lunch. Having chosen wine for a pre-meal drink, I was expecting to be able to have juice when the food arrived. "We don't carry juice on these trolleys" was the reply. Shame no one could have made a little effort to fulfill a simple request!

Other than that the crew were efficient, with two passed of hot towels and extra offers of water/juice in addition to that offered before and during lunch. but as appears to be the case so often these days in economy, warmth and smiles were in short supply.

The flight landed 5 minutes late bu then it took 40 minutes to get to the gate. the captain only announced the delay after some 15 minutes of waiting on one of the taxi ways. At least baggage delivery was fairly speedy - 25 minutes, that's to SAS handling.

Emirates are a good airline, but like many are making cut back here and there. Still better than many though and the AVOD is as ever a big plus.
