Taken 18 December 2007 from Dublin - DUB to Stockholm (Arlanda) - ARN

Flight SK 538 Operated by Luxair Boeing 737-500

Flight SK1424 Operated by SAS Boeing 737-600.

Flight was booked about four weeks in advance and was very reasonable at €106 one way. I arrived earlier in the day from Shannon, however I had to re-check in again in Dublin. I was able to pre-select my seats online which was fantastic as I was able to get two window seats and an exist row on the CPH -ARL.

Check in was quick in Dublin as I was checking in about 3 hours prior to departure. The agent was quick and efficient, and was able to check in my bag to Stockholm and issue both boarding passes, however the security check was slow with a large queue. Boarding was delayed and then there was confusion as the gate being used had a Swiss Airlines plane on the air bridge, and the SAS passengers were diverted down the stairs and were meant to be directed down a set of stair, however the person at the end of the stairs did not direct people, and people got confused ending updown the air bridge towards the Swiss plane.

The flight was operated by Luxair, with a Luxembourger crew. The crew were very friendly and assisted passengers with there luggage. The seats were very comfortable with a good seat pitch, it felt like it was a business class seat. The crew did the announcements in English, but it was interesting to listen to the crew speak in French with a few German words in the sentences.

The flight was extremely smooth, and as the flight was operated by Luxair on behalf of SAS, there was a free snack included, which is different from SAS's traditional buy on board cafe service. The tasty snack was a chicken sandwich with a drink from the bar, followed by tea and coffee.

The cabin crew were attentive and friendly throughout the flight and met every request with a smile. Nice to see in the times of cut backs and low cost airlines that there are still a few of the old traditional airlines around.

Flight landed on time in Copenhagen. Overall a very good flight by Luxair, great crew, with a good in-flight service, I would in future try to find future SAS flights operated by Luxair as the service overall was impeccable.

After just under two hours in Copenhagen, it was time for boarding for my flight to Arlanda. The flight was operated by a new 737-600 plane, which was a lot newer than the Luxair plane. Boarding was quick and as I had pre-selected my seat I was at an exist row.

The crew were friendly and welcomed everyone on board. The flight was full so, but the extra leg room from the exit row makes a big difference.

Soon after take off, the crew started the inflight cafe service, which was the usual collection of sandwiches and drinks. The prices were reasonable, I bought just a drink and a bar of chocolate. The flight was extremely smooth with great views of Sweden between the clouds.

Flight landed on time in Arlanda on time and my bag arrived on the baggage belt within 15 minutes of arrival.

Overall a good flight from SAS, great crew and a good in-flight product.
