Flight from Stockholm to Dublin via Oslo. I booked this flight deliberately as it would allow me to make the Ryanair connection from Dublin to Shannon, as the non-stop flight from Stockholm would not. The flight was the most expensive option at €223 for a one way flight. Check in at Stockholm was very quick, as I had an e-ticket, I was able to use the self check in machines. Which was fantastic as the queue for check in was very long. However there was only one seat left on the flight, despite checking in 3 hours before hand, which was okay as it was an aisle seat. The bag drop was a little slower with a small queue, but over all a very quick check in process. Boarding was organised by seat row number, and the cabin crew greeted each person as they boarded the aircraft. When I took up my seat, a mother whose family was sitting in the row across from me, asked to change seat so she could be closer to her family. This worked out well as I prefer the window seat. The seats on SAS are comfortable with good leg room even in economy. The flight was full and the flight pushed back on time. Soon after take off take off the crew started the buy on board bar service, prices on board are reasonable. One benefit of this route to Ireland is the beautiful scenery over Norway. The overall flight was very smooth and the captain gave an update about 30 minutes prior to landing. The flight landed ahead of time in Oslo. Transferring in Oslo is a breeze as it is a small well laid out airport. However the flight to Dublin then was delayed and the aircraft have to be changed. This resulted in the passengers having to be bussed to the plane with a further delay once everyone had boarded for the catering. The flight took off nearly 1 hour 30 minutes late, this resulted in me missing my domestic flight check in deadline. The crew where extremely apologetic due to the delay. The flight was nearly full, however as I was able to check in at Stockholm, I was able to get a window seat for this flight. The flight itself was good, after take off, the crew started the buy on board sky café. I purchased a tea and Christmas sandwich, which was enjoyable and not overly priced. Overall two good flights from SAS, with the only downside being the late departure in Oslo. The seats were comfortable, food on board the flights are reasonably priced and edible. | ||
