By a miracle this 747-400 was booked with only 55 passengers for our flight! This meant we got a row each for the 8.5 hour journey. Provided incredible comfort and space unmatched even by first class on many airlines.

The jumbo was quite new and well appointed.

Food was "OK", but I expect little of coach class vittles.

Staff were attentive, as you would expect with only 55 passengers aboard!.

My son got a bad nosebleed and the cabin crew mothered him very kindly.

Flight arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule.

All in all this was clearly not representative of Air India, but under the circumstances one of the best flights I ever undertook.
